The Glen Ellen Village Fair will be back for its 31st incarnation on Sunday, Oct. 9 from noon to 5 p.m. in downtown Glen Ellen.
Attendees will enjoy more than 40 vendors, live music, a parade, Kids’ Alley and “the best of community,” according to an announcement from event organizers.
This year, the street fair celebrates the town’s 150th year with the theme: “Glen Ellen 1872-2022, The Tradition Continues.”
The parade kicks off the event at noon at the corner of Gibson and Arnold. The Grand Marshals this year are longtime community volunteers Leslie and Kevin Vaughn. The fair officially opens when the parade ends with vendor booths lining the street and offering arts and crafts, food and beverages and information from local nonprofits.
The main stage, located at the Post Office parking lot, will open with sets from No Account, then Loosely Covered and then headliner Petty Rocks.
The second stage, located at Gibson and Arnold, will feature local youth performers, such as singer- songwriters Abbey Rose and Violet Skye.
This year’s fair quilt was compiled from some of the previous fair’s colorful and fun T-shirts. The design features hidden aliens, shooting stars and spaceships, some of which were enhanced by embroidery.
