Drawing & Painting workshops with artists Pat Meier-Johnson and Miki Hsu Leavey

While we listen to jazz, participants will work individually and together to analyze an exhibition artwork. We will discover and deconstruct its structure, draw and illustrate that structure, and use it for a new painting, all in one session!

For each session, we will look at new selected works from our current exhibitions. We will play with art basics like the Elements of Art and The Principles of Design, along with Composition, Subject Matter, Abstractions and Multimedia. All levels can participate.

Artists Pat Meier-Johnson and Miki Hsu Leavey are accomplished in various styles from figurative to abstract. Their creative insights will take your practice in new exciting directions. Some materials provided.

You will need to bring:
Your own paints: oil, acrylic and/or watercolors
Your own brushes
A white canvas board or panel no larger than 18”x18”
