Come enjoy a performance by Hula Mai and learn about Hawaiian ancestry and tradition!

Two special guest from Hawaii will be joing Hula Mai for the presentation:

As director of the Hula Preservation Society, Maile Loo-Ching’s mission is to preserve the ancient traditions of Hawaiian dance. A master teacher herself, Maile seeks to record the words and works of legendary hula practioners so that they aren’t lost to history. For more information, go to

Mauli Ola Cook is a Hawaiian professional teaching artist, teaching creative dance, storytelling, and puppetry in public schools throughout the islands and the main land. Betty Ann Ka'ihilani Bruno, founder and leader of Hula Mai, was born in Hawaii but grew up in California. She is known for her 22 years at KTVU, Channel 2, as a news reporter, community affairs producer and talk show host. She has always honored her Hawaiian ancestry through the hula and now, retired here in Sonoma, she enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of Hawaiian dancing with others. Betty Ann was named Sonoma Treasure Artist 2020 by the City of Sonoma
