Chef Alex Aguirre
Instructor
Alex Aguirre has a passion for cooking as well as a heartfelt commitment to helping those in need. With over 20 years of chef experience, Alex has learned that the best way to connect with people is though food. His incredible knowledge, effective leadership, and warm demeanor made him a sought-after manager for many local restaurateurs, including Francis Ford Coppola. Alex currently manages the daily operations for the non-profit Berkeley Food Pantry, one of the oldest food pantries in the Bay Area, providing emergency groceries to over 2,000 monthly clients. Alex also leads cooking classes for individuals recovering from alcohol and drug abuse, using his love of cooking to teach them essential life skills to help them continue a drug-free life. Alex enjoys cooking with his three daughters and teaching them his secret to making the world a better place through delicious and healthy food.
