What you’ll do
In partnership with Amu Arts, the Sonoma Community Center is pleased to offer three special workshops on February 14th, given by guest artists visiting from Japan. Register for more than one workshop and receive a 10% discount. Sign up for all three to make it a full day experience at 20% off!
This book was designed by Adachi for a work inspired by DNA and the growth of the giant beanstalk. Its defining feature is a dynamic spiral structure created solely by folding two long sheets of paper, without the use of glue or thread.
In this workshop, participants work with two long sheets of paper and thin colored papers. One of the long sheets is translucent and folded in half lengthwise. Participants freely insert colored paper between the folded layers. As the structure is folded and completed, participants discover how the inserted colors shift and emerge through the spiral form.
Anyone interested in making things can participate. No prior bookmaking experience is required.
Japanese Guest Artist Bookmaking Series
This class is part of a 3 part series.

Register for 3 classes using the code triple to receive 20% off your total registration cost for all 3 classes.
