About the Class
A class that is all about pinching! With instructor Dan, students will learn handbuilding methods to coil and pitch their vessels. With specific direction in learning the techniques to build any size of pot, from a large scale vessel to a small cup. We will learn how to support scaling up our forms through drying methods, interior ‘bone’ structure, and mastering directionality with our hands. There will be a focus on how we each make a mark upon a pot, and how to do so with purpose. Each student will create work that reflects the time-honored nature of handbuilding; when intention is given to the silhouette of a form, the lip of a cup, and/or the comfort of a handle.
Each class will involve a warmup, a demo, and worktime. Most classes will have (fun&thoughtful) homework.
